Overview
The Payroll Clerk will assist the Controller and Bookkeeper with day-to-day processes related to the financial/accounting aspect of the business and is responsible for processing and managing employee payroll, ensuring accurate compensation and compliance with relevant laws and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Assist with reviewing timecards for accuracy and completeness and ensuring the timely timecard submission of employees.
- Resolving any timecard exceptions and missed punches before processing by working with supervisors responsible for timecard approvals.
- Compile payroll data from timesheets and other records to process payroll.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries with courtesy and timeliness.
- Processes payroll
- Aids in the maintenance of current data systems, ensuring that all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Assist in processing new hires, terminations, etc.
- Assist the accounting department in daily, monthly and annual activities including but not limited to; Accounts Payable related activities like identifying unpaid invoices through A/P research and issue checks as they become due, reconciling all unresolved accounts and resolving discrepancies.
- Timely processing & gathering information to complete customer/patient receivable invoicing.
- Research and identify improvement opportunities to increase accuracy and efficiency and implement them on a regular basis.
- Assists and works on special projects, audits, mandatory notices, compliance reporting and other administrative duties as needed.
- Provide a variety of routine office and clerical support as required including the preparation of documents, spreadsheets, presentations, or other communication.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or high school diploma with some experience in payroll and general bookkeeping
- Understand general business concepts involving payroll, bookkeeping entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Exceptional time management, communication, and problem-solving/reconciliation skills
- Organized with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good computer skills with some knowledge of bookkeeping software (Quickbooks Online)
- Willingness to learn, as our company is always changing and striving to improve
- Able to commute to our other offices as needed
- Professionalism: high level of integrity required and ability to maintain confidentiality
