May direct the work of other lower-level professionals in the context of a project, process, or program. The majority of time is spent overseeing the design, implementation, or delivery of projects, processes, or programs using knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education or equivalent work experience.
This job family is responsible for all of the steps involved in getting products from suppliers to customers. Activities include work associated with obtaining goods and services for all types of business processes; finished goods demand inventory planning and production planning & control to achieve targeted quality, wastage, and inventory levels; movement, storage, and inventory control of materials, finished goods, tools, and packaging materials; import/export & customs management. Freight forwarding services roles are included in this job family.
Management and Professional track positions in this sub-family are primarily responsible for long-term supply chain strategies and networks that address capacity issues and production location decisions in support of business goals. Supports business execution of new programs and initiatives that include promotional activities, forecast and coordination for key events, new product launches, and network redesigns. Monitors key sales and operations planning performance indicators, cost-to-serve performance data, and coordinates cross-functional work teams to increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives.
Technical and Business Operations track positions in this sub-family are primarily responsible for planning, controlling, and implementing processes related to materials and finished goods storage and movement; inventory control; fleet vehicles and traffic management; and general logistics optimization, planning and control. Activities include identifying enhancements to logistics processes, defining optimal transportation routes, and identifying and defining new approaches and systems for inventory management.
Overview: Experienced individual contributor that works independently/under limited supervision. Applies advanced knowledge of job acquired through relevant and substantial work experience.
Purpose: Responsible for defined components or entire projects, processes, or programs within the area of responsibility.
Qualifications/ Experience: Work requires a deep understanding of the theoretical concepts and principles of a discipline and how they relate to other areas of the business. This is typically acquired through a 4-year university degree and at least 5 years of prior relevant experience.
Problem Solving: Problems faced typically require complicated solutions and are sometimes complex. Takes a new perspective using existing solutions.
Communications: Communicates with parties within and outside of own function.
Management & Supervision: Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level roles. Works independently with minimal guidance. Work is reviewed at critical points.
