The Director of Compliance reports to the General Counsel and will oversee and manage the Benevis compliance program, ensuring that the organization meets all legal and regulatory requirements. This role focuses on implementing compliance strategies, training, and continuous monitoring, and collaborates with various departments to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
Responsibilities
- Act as a compliance subject matter expert and advisor.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
- Monitor and audit adherence to regulatory standards such as HIPAA, OSHA, and any other relevant dental industry regulations.
- Provide oversight, development and approval of compliance training and education program content to all team members.
- Conduct internal audits to identify compliance issues and work with management to implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure clinical and operational processes comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Investigate compliance concerns and work to resolve any regulatory or legal challenges.
- Report compliance activities and findings to the General Counsel, Chief Dental Officer and senior leadership, including recommendations for corrective actions.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in dental services compliance.
- Assist in the preparation for any external regulatory inspections and certifications.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in compliance or regulatory affairs, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
- Experience within the healthcare or dental industry is strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks, particularly HIPAA, OSHA, and state-level dental regulations.
- Proven experience in conducting compliance audits and investigations.
- Demonstrated experience in an advisory capacity.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to educate staff on compliance matters.
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, law, business administration, or a related field. While a college degree is preferred, we will consider candidates with extensive relevant experience in lieu of formal education.
