We are looking for a full-time Senior Accountant. This position reports to the Controller. This role is responsible company’s accounting transactions, which entails the reviewing, analyzing, and posting on general ledger transactions, executing monthly close procedures in compliance with GAAP, reviewing and updating account reconciliations, and ensuring accuracy in general ledger coding. Additionally, the position involves interacting with auditors and management, recording complex transactions, and contributing to process improvements. The candidate will collaborate with various teams to achieve departmental goals and enhance accounting and reporting automation.

This is a hybrid role with a minimum requirement to work 2 days in the Coquitlam office.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and processing of transactions for the complete inventory cycle
  • Processing payment for inventory vendors and any associated fees
  • Validating the proper application of vendor payments
  • Initialize, setup and administer electronic bank payments
  • Accounting for daily banking activities and prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Processing of foreign currency transactions
  • Ensure that all daily sales transactions are properly posted and reconciled to the general ledger
  • Manage the fixed assets continuity schedule
  • Reconciliation of respective general ledger and subledger accounts
  • Prepare and post payroll and ad-hoc journal entries
  • Prepare monthly and annual working papers and liaise with the external auditors
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Preference for CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines.
  • Skilled with ERP systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, changing and fast-growing company environment is ideal.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards.
  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • The ideal candidate will be highly skilled with exceptional analytical and quantitative abilities.
