As a Structural CAD Technician, you will create electronic design plans using computer software and work closely with Engineers to turn blueprints and technical drawings into 2D/3D computer models.

What are the core responsibilities for the role?

  • Prioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines, answering to various engineers and project managers
  • Drafting and design work for a variety of projects across multiple disciplines
  • Working in structural and architectural detailing and other associated items
  • Create/Modify technical drawings of water retention structures, buildings, bridges, vaults, standard details, etc.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure that the drawings are correct and represent the design accurately
  • Compiling and maintaining the entire plan set of technical drawings
  • Coordination with other technicians on projects that support more than just structural design

Qualifications, Skills, And Competencies

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit
  • Manage project data files from various sources
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings; ability to think 3-dimensionally
  • Must be able to work independently with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks, with competing priorities
  • Be a professional, creative, team-focused individual that works well with others in a team environment
  • Be enthusiastic, dedicated, and self-disciplined to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Associates degree or equivalent technical degree
  • 3 to 12 years of experience
