Job Description
Provides dedicated expert focus on insurance, reimbursement, account corrections, authorizations, and other financial issues to maximize financial stability of PeaceHealth home health and/or hospice programs.
Details Of The Position
- Verifies coverage and ensures all insurance requirements are met.
- Obtains insurance authorizations. Ensures insurance carrier (including Medicare) documentation requirements are met and documentation is filed in patient’s medical record. Completes in a timely manner per insurance coverage requirements.
- Identifies and evaluates how to maximize the patient’s health insurance benefits. Ensure all demographic, insurance and eligibility information obtained are up to date.
- Efficiently manages correspondence with patients, physicians, specialists, clinicians, and insurance companies. Documents pertinent information in medical record. Ensures practitioners are following standardized guidelines as recommended by Home & Community Services.
- Performs work in accordance with regulatory requirements, policies/procedures and departmental standards in regard to HIPAA and other government requirements. Supports proper billing procedures while ensuring privacy guidelines are implemented and carried out.
What You Bring
- 3 years of experience working in insurance in a medical related field, or other related experience
- Knowledge of Hospice Medicare regulations and Home Health insurance regulations.
- Ability to work from home in a secure environment free of distractions with appropriate high-speed connectivity.
- Proficient use of computer including MS Office applications.
- Must be able to manage conflict effectively and professionally.
- Excellent time management skills, with an emphasis on meeting time sensitive deadlines.
