Job Overview

We are actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Behavioral Health Outpatient Counselor to join our esteemed Clinical Outpatient Services team. In this pivotal role, you will deliver a comprehensive array of clinical services, including group, family, and individual therapy, as well as community support and clinical evaluations for individuals confronting mental health and substance use challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions for clients dealing with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
  • Conduct clinical evaluations and provide essential community support services.
  • Maintain accurate client records, including treatment plans, assessments, and progress notes.
  • Ensure timely documentation for authorization requests, Medicaid, and third-party billing.
  • Identify and connect clients with additional resources and services.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and regular team meetings to enhance service delivery.
  • Occasionally provide services for the Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) as necessary.
  • Engage in the crisis phone rotation (approximately 1-2 times per year).

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in a Human Services field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling).
  • Valid clinical licensure (LCSW, LCAS, LCMHC) – full LCSW is preferred.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience with individuals, families, and groups addressing mental health and/or substance use disorders.
  • Experience with dual diagnosis, substance dependence/abuse, and DSM-V.
  • Familiarity with the 12 Core Functions of substance use treatment.
  • Proficient with electronic medical records systems.
  • Spanish fluency is advantageous but not required.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant Human Services field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling).
  • Clinical licensure (LCSW, LCAS, LCMHC) is essential – preference for full LCSW.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Starting compensation at $26.00+ per hour, commensurate with credentials and experience.
