Description
University of Redlands
Dean of Business & Society
Salary Range: $255,000-265,000
(Anticipated hiring range is near or at the minimum of the classification, commensurate with candidate’s education, experience, skills, and training.)
The University of Redlands announces its search for the next Dean of the School of Business & Society (SBS). The University seeks a seasoned, collaborative, and transparent leader who is excited to join the University at a time of major change, including the mergers of Redlands with the Presidio Graduate School, along with its focus on sustainable business solutions, and Woodbury University, which brings AACSB-accredited business programs. The Dean will report to the Provost and sit on the President’s Cabinet.
Adopting the “society” nomenclature in 2021, SBS emphasized its commitment to transform business education and impact how business is led. The School’s curriculum is informed by liberal arts values, which are reflected in notable programs in ethics, geographic information systems for business, and international outreach, including short-term study abroad options. SBS offers four graduate degrees, a BS degree completion program that serves transfer students and working adults, and three accelerated pathways for Redlands undergraduates to earn one of the advanced degrees offered by SBS. In addition, undergraduate students at the University currently earn bachelor’s degrees in business fields through the College of Arts and Sciences. Two graduate degree programs are offered in association with the Presidio Graduate School.
With the mergers underway, the next Dean will integrate curriculum, policies, procedures, and personnel; marshal constituent groups around common goals and common values; and lead the creation of a new SBS strategic plan. The Dean also will be expected to increase both domestic and international enrollment, develop new partnerships, promote a culture of inclusion, and support the University’s application for AACSB accreditation. The Dean will demonstrate success in fostering innovation and thinking futuristically to meet the educational needs of traditional-aged students, adult students, and industry professionals. An earned doctorate or other terminal degree in a field appropriate to SBS’s offerings and a distinguished record of teaching, scholarly or creative activity, and service commensurate with appointment at the rank of professor are required.
