What we’re seeking:

The UAT Tester 1 is responsible for reviewing the scope of work in the Business Requirements and ensuring acceptance criteria and test cases are in alignment, executing and updating results of the assigned test cases in all required systems. They will also support testing through the life cycle of the project, complete through deployment, checkout, and validation in production. In this remote role, you will be expected to collaborate with peers as required but can work anywhere in the contiguous United States.

What you’ll do:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and specifically UAT process and test methodologies
  • Demonstrate understanding of formal software test design techniques
  • Creates and maintains user acceptance test/business scenarios for projects
  • Designing, creating, and executing UAT test cases
  • Defect management, as appropriate, ensuring all proper steps are complete including screen shots, order flow and components
  • Reviews and triages defects with various teams to determine potential impacts to the success of projects
  • Partners with XA-Leadership to clearly define scope of reported issues and ensure accurate supporting documentation
  • Report other testing concerns to the project leader, even if they do not result in a defect. (Training call outs, process concerns, documentation needs, concern with completion dates, etc.)
  • Participate in special projects managed outside the IT Organization to the level directed by the Manager
  • Work collaboratively with internal leadership as well as IT leadership to prioritize and resolve issues

What background you should have:

  • Understand cross-functional impacts for the Consumer and/or Small Business Team with Field Operations, Operations Support Center, Product, Marketing, and the Call Centers
  • Strong focus on internal and external customer impacts, order accuracy and potential impacts to other key performance indicators
  • Associate degree OR minimum two years successful experience in an equivalent field
  • Beginner to Intermediate level of knowledge with PC hardware and software, including Microsoft Office products, Jira and AccelQ or equivalent testing tool
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; strong analytical skills and detail oriented; energetic team play with an ability to work with others, sharing workloads appropriate and able to pick up tasks midstream and pass off tasks as appropriate
  • Problem-solver who works independently, but keenly aware of and comfortable engaging Leaders as needed
  • Must work flexible hours, including nights, overnights and weekends as needed; may be required to travel up to 20%
  • Beginner level Agile scrum training; basic understanding of CRM tools and billing systems, IVR, Digital applications and knowledge management tools, experience in multiple workstreams (Call Centers, Field Ops, Small Bus or Residential, offline, etc.) a plus
