Category Analyst

The Category Analyst will work closely with a specific client merchandising team to help them leverage their data-driven insights to drive sales and client market shares. This role will analyze sales data, customer trends and market data to develop strategies to drive sales growth and help the client optimize product assortment. The strategies would then be executed in the markets by Acxion and the client.

This role will be an Acxion employee but dedicated to the client’s categories.

Key Accountabilities

This role is designed to leverage insights from the client’s data to enhance sales performance. Responsibilities of this role include:

• Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret sales data to identify trends and areas of opportunity.
• Sales Strategy Development: Use the data to collaborate with the client’s merchandising teams to create an actionable market plan to drive sales.
• Communication: This role is the client’s primary point of contact for category data analysis. They will be responsible to communicating the agreed upon strategies to the clients as well as Acxion’s dedicated teams.
• Reporting and Performance Tracking: Prepare and present detailed reports and dashboards to communicate opportunities and findings. This role will also be responsible for monitoring category performance to monitor effectiveness.
• Problem Solving and analytical skills – This role will independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate team members.
• Regional Business Reviews: Produce regional business reviews for client RSMs, providing actionable insights and strategic recommendations based on data analysis.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with foodservice data
• Proven analytical skills with the ability to analyze, model and interpret data to create actionable plans.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills and experience building relationships virtually.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools and other required processes and systems
