What you need to know about this position:

During this assignment as the Product Development Intern, you’ll be involved in taking a product design and making it “real” in a factory environment. You will also be exposed to the other various phases of product design such as flavour screenings, laboratory prototype development, scale-up validation, and packaging development. The Product Developer function works with their Process Development, Regulatory, Production and Quality colleagues to develop and document the product required to manufacture new products or to improve efficiency of current products.

Product Development Intern will have the opportunity to shadow R&D team members and also to lead a technical project which will provide the occasion to interact with various functional areas within the corporation, such as Marketing, Manufacturing and Quality, allowing for the chance to explore future career possibilities. For a future position within Mondelez, professionals who have participated in this program will be given first consideration if there is the right skills/job fit.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Making lab-made prototypes for internal or external testing
  • Managing the stability program
  • Conducting sensory testing roundtables
  • Collecting plant data during trials and analyze results
  • Keeping the lab inventories up to date, and the lab in hygienic condition
  • Developing lab SOPs and training videos
  • Performing lab analytical tests
  • Supporting Sr. Developers with complex projects

What extra ingredients you will bring:

Education / Certifications:

  • Studying towards a Food Science or related major with 8 or 12 months availability

Other Information

  • Duration: 12-months
  • Start – End date: May 2025 to May 2026 (contract term to be finalized)
  • Travel requirements: Less than 10% – local External manufacturing as needed
  • Location: Onsite. Gladstone Plant, Toronto, Canada

Work schedule:Monday – Friday: 9am – 5pm. Flexibility sometimes required outside of normal business hours for planned trials.
