Job Title: Speaking, Listening, and Communication (SLC) Tutor
Location: Remote
Job Type: Permanent – Monday to Friday (36.5 hours a week)
Salary: £24,500 – £29,000
We are looking for a skilled Speaking, Listening, and Communication (SLC) Tutor to support the timely completion of the SLC component of English Functional Skills. In this role, you will deliver engaging workshops, prepare learners for assessments, and maintain a high pass rate. You will also develop and manage the SLC curriculum, organise assessments, and ensure adherence to exam board guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver SLC workshops, equipping learners with the skills to complete their Functional Skills assessments.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date and effective SLC curriculum.
- Organise and manage learner assessments, ensuring at least five learners are assessed daily.
- Collaborate with other tutors to prioritise learner needs and ensure timely progression.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and safeguarding protocols while managing assessment paperwork.
Requirements:
What we need from you:
- Grade A-C GCSE in English and Maths, or equivalent.
- Teaching qualification (e.g., AET, CET, Cert Ed, PGCE, PTTLS).
- Assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA, CAVA, A1, D32/D33).
- Experience in teaching Functional Skills and delivering SLC to diverse learners.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Functional Skills apprenticeship standards and assessment requirements (online and paper-based).
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant IT tools.
