Position Title: President & Chief Executive Officer

Location: Upland Hills Health – Dodgeville, Wisconsin

Role & Department: President & Chief Executive Officer in the Administration Department

Hours & Shift: Full-time (1.0 FTE) executive level exempt position

Role Responsibilities:

  • The President & Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the overall planning, leadership and direction of all the activities and functions in support of the mission, vision, values & bylaws of the organization
  • Will provide long-term and short-term strategic planning
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations governing all operations
  • Provide oversight for regulatory guidelines
  • Responsible to ensure efficient and economical utilization of resources
  • Meet stated organizational targets and objectives as well as the health needs of its patients and the communities it serves
  • Will provide guidance and leadership to the Board of Trustees and provide reports on the status of services and operations
  • Will ensure the preparation of budgets and financial plans in accordance with board directives and ensures the integrity of all financial operations of the facility
  • Will strive to achieve the organization’s stated financial and operating goals
  • Works cooperatively with and/or provides effective leadership to the medical staff
  • Maintains close contact with the communities and its leaders that are served to align the organization with the communities
  • Shall have all the powers customarily given to the Chief Executive of a Corporation, subject to the control of the Board of Trustees
  • Is directly and solely accountable to the Upland Hills Health Board of Trustees in the performance of duties in a manner that is commensurate with the responsibilities and authorities conferred upon him or her by the Board
  • Is the representative of the Board in the general leadership and management of the organization
  • Understand financial and operational aspects of a healthcare organization
  • Analyze business problems and general alternative solutions
  • Interact professionally with a wide variety of people dealing effectively with both pleasant and unpleasant situations
  • Deal effectively with time pressures and stress
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal, verbal communication and public speaking skills

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a Master’s program with a Degree in Hospital/Healthcare or Business Administration or willing to obtain in 12-18 months
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of related senior level health care management experience
  • Previous experience with leadership of traditional hospital based services as well as a skilled nursing facility, home health/hospice services and hospital owned and operated clinics
  • Rural Healthcare Executive Leadership experience is beneficial and preferred
  • American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) participation preferred
  • Previous experience with the Microsoft Office Suite software programs is beneficial
  • Requires residence in primary service area or willingness to relocate with 1 year
