Job Description

DUTIES

  • Interpret data, formulate reports, and make recommendations based upon the research findings
  • Design and support data visualizations, including dashboards
  • Apply descriptive statistical analysis to data
  • Create, document, and implement quality control procedures that eliminate data errors
  • Gather data sources to address data issues identified by internal and external reviews
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving processes in operational models and workflow procedures
  • Create or update documents required as part of business and functional requirements
  • Conduct routine ad hoc data runs and prepare write-ups in response to data queries
  • Revise processing operations to incorporate new data elements and data quality control and timeliness procedures related to new elements
  • Provide technical support as necessary

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a relevant field, plus a minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a business analyst or data analyst role
  • Experience using Excel and SQL, SAS, or other programming languages to query and summarize data from extracts or large databases for generating reports and to aid decision-making
  • Data visualization experience using dashboards in Excel, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
  • Experience developing business process models and workflow diagrams
  • Advanced Excel skills (task automation; dynamic reports with PivotTables; building formulae; cell formatting; building charts and graphs; large data management with IF, SUM, INDEX, MATCH, VLOOKUP functions)
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., SAS, Python, R)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Atlassian products Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with Agile development processes
  • Experience maintaining relational databases using SQL
  • Certification in one or more programming languages (e.g., SAS, Python, R)
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Outlook) to create complex documents, manage schedules, and analyze data
  • Effective organizational, planning, and time-management skills
  • Experience with claims data or health information management
