Job Description
Qualifications: Master’s degree preferred
R2S Literacy endorsement
Strong background in literacy curriculum
At least five years of successful classroom experience at the primary level
Expertise in the area of best practices for early literacy learning
Excellent skills in human relations and leadership
Outstanding organizational and technology skills
Excellent Oral and written communication skills
Job Goal: To serve as the school early literacy interventionist
Performance Responsibilities
Provides individual and small group instruction for identified early childhood students
Serves as a member of the MTSS process and participates in community literacy programs
Assists with the identification process for early childhood students for literacy intervention
Administers screening tools to select students for interventions
Conducts progress monitoring and maintains records for students in intervention
Completes reports and paperwork as required
Monitors the progress of students who have met their intervention goals
Communicates with school personnel and parents of children
Works with the classroom teacher and school administration on behalf of each child
Participates in student intervention team meetings and district level instructional meetings
Confers with the principal on the needs of the literacy instructional program
Participates in professional learning workshops and conferences
Works with Early Literacy Interventionist Teacher Leader for guidance and support
Receives and conducts instructional observations with other Early Literacy Interventionist
Willing to teach at least once a year behind the one-way glass for professional development
Performs other appropriate duties as assigned by the principal
Terms of Employment: 190 day contract with salary determined by placement on the teacher salary schedule
Evaluation: Job performance evaluated annually in accordance with board policy
