Primary Job Duties
Analyze, compile, and report safety data to support all SkyWest safety programs.
- Collecting, analyzing, and reporting on safety assurance-related data from safety data sources
- Identifying and monitoring safety performance trends
- Reporting and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Safety department, including Flight Severity Index (FSI) events
- Presenting data analysis findings in safety meetings investigations and Safety Risk Assessments (SRAs).
- Providing safety data reports for:
- Partner safety metric reporting
- Internal and external safety meetings
- Pattern and trend analysis reports to Department Safety Managers and Safety Committees
- Ad hoc reporting for active investigations or proactive risk analysis
- Maintaining process measurement data for Safety Managers
- Creating, updating, and maintaining Tableau dashboards as required.
- Recognizing and reporting hazards in the work environment through established safety reporting programs
Minimum Requirements
- Be qualified through training, experience, and expertise to function as a data analyst.
- Formal education including comprehensive data collection, quantitative methods, data interpretation, analysis techniques, and statistical analysis; and/or
- Professional data analyst certification
- Two years of work experience as a data analyst or related job
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to make presentations to leadership groups
- Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively manage time
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel with experience with the entire Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Experience with Tableau preferred
- Experience in aviation safety assurance programs preferred (e.g., ASAP, FOQA, LOSA)
- Experience with Excellence through Quality (EtQ) Reliance preferred
- Experience in Aviation SMS preferred
- Knowledge of FARs and Company policies and procedures preferred
Physical And Other Requirements
- Open to remote work or can be based in SGU or SLC
- Sitting for extended periods of time in front of computer
- Some travel required
