Job Summary

Position is responsible for supervising on-site construction at a single site or multiple projects. May need to travel to various sites for work assignments.

Essential Functions

  • Resolve day-to-day problems on the job site
  • Supervise all Assistant Superintendents and Subcontractors
  • Train others as needed
  • Review and redline blueprints
  • Enforce safety standards
  • Enforce quality standards
  • Enforce cleanliness standards
  • Inspect all work during construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Resolve construction problems
  • Prepare/review all submittals and RFIs
  • Assist Project Manager with subcontract negotiations
  • Approve subcontractor bills for payment
  • Project budget management
  • Prepare job schedule and ensure adherence to schedule
  • Preside over site construction meetings
  • Manage all jurisdictional inspections
  • Delegate tasks

Job Requirements And Qualifications

Education and Experience

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in building construction or related field; will consider 10 plus years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 5 plus years of multifamily experience involving wood frame – can be with a contractor or similar development firm.
  • 3-5 years hands-on supervisory experience with trades and contractors
  • Must be able to read blueprints and work with change orders
  • Project Scheduling – to create and maintain 3/week look ahead using either P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Project Safety – OSHA 30 Hour (minimum)
  • Procore (project management program) – understand and perform daily tasks
  • Must be financially oriented to provide updates to managers and owners’ representatives.
  • Working knowledge of computer-based scheduling, budgeting, word processing, and communication applications.
  • Able to problem solve and can work independently
  • Must be collaborative
  • Proven ability to project manage on time and within budget
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Communicate and converse to exchange information
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard, phone, calculator and other office equipment with or without accommodations.
  • Seeing to read a variety of materials
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to transport 10-25 lbs. (computer, files, etc.)
  • Move about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Ability to work under stressful, fast-paced conditions

  • Flexible working hours are M-F, 8:00am – 5:00pm (alternate schedule may apply).
  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Ability to travel to field locations and stay overnight, if required
