The Development Analyst will work closely with senior management in the pursuit of new real estate development opportunities and business decision analytics. Oversight of these functions and performance of all related duties will need to be performed with minimal direction.
What You’ll Do…
- Work with the acquisitions team to perform financial modeling on potential investment opportunities in targeted real estate markets including, but not limited to 1.) Generating supportable income, expense, and CapEx projections, 2.) Analyzing various financing and stress test scenarios, 3.) Identifying and developing a business plan to drive yield and 4.) Performing market survey, demographic, and economic analysis to support submarket locations.
- Maintain integrity and expand the functionality of Avanti Residential’s proprietary Excel-based financial models Create new financial forecasts as necessary such as 1.) Translating legalese in operating agreements to financial waterfalls, 2.) Developing custom Excel models to inform management of operation metrics, 3.) Creating scenario analysis for dispositions or recapitalizations.
- Perform a key role in new acquisition due diligence analysis, and ongoing financial underwriting, and collaborate with the transaction management team throughout the acquisition process.
- Assist acquisition/investor relations team in assembling offering materials including, 1.) Drafting investment-related property overview materials, financial information, et. al 2.) Assisting in the aggregation of investor information and legal materials as necessary.
- Produce financial packages for debt and equity.
- Collaborate with property management and asset management team on business plan development; document and communicate final deal points to facilitate a successful handoff to the operating team.
- Source loan quotes from lending partners on potential new acquisitions as well as existing asset refinance or supplemental loans.
- Perform a key role in new development sites, opportunities, due diligence analysis, and ongoing financial underwriting.
- Develop proprietary complex Excel models as needed to inform management of operation metrics.
- Assist the acquisitions team in gathering and analyzing market and economic information.
What We’re Looking For…
- Thorough understanding of commercial real estate finance and variation.
- Microsoft Excel and database management knowledge.
- Analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Interpersonal and written communication skills
Requirements
What You’ll Need to Qualify…
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or real estate required.
- Master’s degree with an MBA in Real Estate preferred.
- 3+ years of multi-family commercial real estate experience required.

- Possession of valid driver’s license and up to date vehicle insurance OR reliable transportation.
- Pass criminal background screening prior to employment.
