We are a new college preparatory elementary and middle school serving the students of Jackson, MS.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Designs and develops assessments for literacy, math, and science
  • Oversees and support with managing school-wide diagnostic and benchmark assessments
  • Develop teachers’ instructional knowledge of standards, content, and instructional methods
  • Leads professional development around data analysis and data-driven instruction
  • Prepares academic data reports for the Executive Director, School Leaders, and other stakeholders; acts as a key guide to Principals on making responsive and timely data-driven decisions with action plans to change teaching practice
  • Manages and coordinates all professional development with the support of academic school leaders
  • Provide high-quality instructional & cultural coaching with consistent teacher observations, actionable feedback, and accountability for adjustment in practice to develop an understanding of academic standards
  • Coach emerging leaders on instructional coaching practices
  • Supports with state testing coordination
  • Manages and coordinates the implementation of instructional technology programming
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining curriculum pacing and mapping for ELA, mathematics, and science
  • Coordinate, develop, review, and support school-based staff in implementing impactful professional development
  • Initiate and coordinate the development, dissemination, and implementation of K-12 curricula
  • Manage and collaborate with academic vendors and consultants for the implementation and training of various academic programming
  • Participate in the interview and selection process of the instructional and support staff as appropriate
  • Coordinate and support district special programming, such as gifted education
  • Serve as a coach to teachers by providing expert advice on improving and enhancing lesson planning, individual lessons, and units based on ongoing analysis
  • Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • A successful background check in compliance with state law is required
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Google Suite required
  • Experience managing a team, coaching teachers, and/or designing a curriculum required
  • Experience delivering professional development to a wide range of individuals required
  • Minimum 3 years of school leadership experience required
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience required
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Math and ELA standards, required
  • Detailed knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements for K-12 schools and charter school
