Job Description

UI Health Care is seeking a Paralegal to provide both transactional and litigation support to our attorneys in the Law Department. We are looking for an experienced paralegal with outstanding organizational skills who excels in both independent and team settings.

At the direction of the Associate Vice President for Legal Affairs and Deputy Counsels, core work responsibilities include:

  • Litigation processing and coordination of tort claims
  • Receiving and coordinating responses to release of medical information requests
  • Coordination of records and records maintenance
  • Assisting process servicers in serving court documents
  • Facilitating document distribution
  • Corporate UI Health System record book maintenance as well as coordinating Board of Directors meetings, and taking minutes at same
  • Coordinating audit response
  • Initiating payment for outside law firms, maintaining and tracking fees.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically two years’ experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporation providing direct support for litigation and transactional legal services.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment.
  • Extensive experience with computer and word processing (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, One Drive, etc.)

  • Outstanding analytical and interpersonal skills and cross-cultural competencies
  • Highest level of integrity and professionalism
  • An ability to independently manage and prioritize work
