Job Description
At the direction of the Associate Vice President for Legal Affairs and Deputy Counsels, core work responsibilities include:
- Litigation processing and coordination of tort claims
- Receiving and coordinating responses to release of medical information requests
- Coordination of records and records maintenance
- Assisting process servicers in serving court documents
- Facilitating document distribution
- Corporate UI Health System record book maintenance as well as coordinating Board of Directors meetings, and taking minutes at same
- Coordinating audit response
- Initiating payment for outside law firms, maintaining and tracking fees.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Typically two years’ experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporation providing direct support for litigation and transactional legal services.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment.
- Extensive experience with computer and word processing (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, One Drive, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate
- Outstanding analytical and interpersonal skills and cross-cultural competencies
- Highest level of integrity and professionalism
- An ability to independently manage and prioritize work
