THE OPPORTUNITY

Dillard’s is looking for a Network Manager for the Network Engineer and Network Operations teams. In this role, you will help to set the team’s direction and remove roadblocks to enable the team to perform at its highest level. To achieve this, you will need to develop an understanding of the network that these two teams support. This manager must build strong relationships within the team and with other teams, leaders, and users.

THE TEAM

This position will manage two teams, Network Engineers and Network Operations Center. These teams plan, implement, maintain, and support all network aspects for Dillard’s. The Network Engineer team comprises 1 Team Lead and 8 team members. The engineers design, implement, and support all network aspects for Dillard’s. The NOC team comprises 1 Team Lead and 4 team members. The NOC monitors and supports the day-to-day operations of the Dillard’s network.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Be responsible for the overall performance of the network teams.
  • Work closely with directors, peer managers, and users to develop, maintain, and improve the network.
  • Work with vendors on contracts and network purchases.
  • Work with the teams to clearly define priorities to be worked on.
  • Monitor team productivity, research issues, and provide input for salary administration and performance reviews.
  • Work with the Director to facilitate/monitor individual team members’ growth, development, and performance, as well as assess resource needs.
  • Strive to recognize and reinforce positive behavior.

THE NICE-TO-HAVES

WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU’LL

  • Have a basic understanding of the responsibilities of the Network teams.
  • Start conducting 1:1 meetings with team members.

WITHIN 2 MONTHS, YOU’LL

  • Work with your director (and possibly others) to lay out priorities and goals for the team.
  • Have met with current account teams for introductions and a general understanding of the vendor role.

WITHIN 3 MONTHS, YOU

  • Update your director with the status of projects and future plans for the team.
  • Have a general understanding of the renewal process.
