Position Overview: We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to support our organization’s design needs across digital, print, and event platforms. This role ensures consistency in the application of our brand identity, monitors the usage of sub-brands, and approves international partner branding. The Graphic Designer will create impactful visuals for web layouts, reports, playbooks, marketing campaigns, events, member meetings, and digital advertising. With a comprehensive range of responsibilities, this role plays a critical part in communicating our mission and engaging our audience.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Consistency & Oversight:

  • Ensure consistent application of our brand identity across all touchpoints, including digital, print, and events.
  • Monitor and implement the usage of sub-brands, such as event branding and the SB Member Network.
  • Review and approve international partners’ use of the brand to maintain alignment with brand guidelines.

Comprehensive Design Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging web layouts and visuals for editorial content, including sponsored articles, member editorials, and web features.
  • Utilize basic HTML knowledge to optimize web visuals and ensure compatibility with digital platforms.
  • Develop print and digital materials such as brochures, event signage, presentations, stage designs, and branded collateral for conferences, member meetings, and other engagements.
  • Produce reports, playbooks, and other downloadable resources to support thought leadership and audience engagement.
  • Design digital assets for advertising, email campaigns, and social media to enhance marketing initiatives.
  • Maintain organized file structures using tools like Dropbox and Google Drive to facilitate collaboration and easy access to assets.
  • Produce templates and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Collaboration and Process:

  • Partner with internal teams to understand project goals and translate them into visually engaging designs.
  • Support cross-functional needs by coordinating with editorial, marketing, and event teams to deliver high-quality visual content.
  • Write clear and concise creative briefs for external collaborators, including agencies, freelancers, photographers, and videographers, to ensure alignment with project goals and brand guidelines.
  • Work with external vendors, freelancers, and agencies when needed to supplement design work.

Project Management (Preferred):

  • Assist with project management across team projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated on design trends, tools, and best practices to bring fresh ideas to the team.
  • Proactively seek feedback to refine designs and improve processes.

Qualifications:

Experience & Skills:

  • 5+ years of professional design experience, ideally in a publishing, events, or marketing-focused environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Experience designing for both digital (web layouts, digital ads, email campaigns, social media) and print (reports, brochures, event collateral).
  • Strong understanding of branding and the ability to maintain consistency across a variety of formats and platforms.

Creativity & Collaboration:

  • Exceptional visual storytelling skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging designs.
  • Effective communicator who thrives in collaborative environments.

Project Management (Preferred):

  • Organized and proactive, with the ability to manage timelines and resources across team projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with event design, including large conferences and smaller member meetings.
  • Familiarity with sustainability topics or mission-driven organizations.
  • Basic knowledge of motion graphics, video editing, or interactive design tools.
