Audio Visual Assistant

The position
The Audio Visual & Residential IT support Assistant will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining AV equipment, and supporting residential IT needs, particularly internet access, during evenings and weekends.
Duties And Responsibility
- Set up, operate, and maintain audio equipment for school events, including meetings, performances, and presentations.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate audio systems with existing technology infrastructure.
- Work closely with academic teams to understand and meet specific audio requirements for educational activities.
- Attend event planning meetings to assess audio needs and provide recommendations based on event type and audience size.
- Conduct pre-event sound checks to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and meets the needs of presenters and performers.
- Offer technical support during events to assist users in navigating audio systems.
- Coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
- Assist students and staff with internet access issues during weekday evenings and weekends.
The requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
- Strong technical skills with a solid understanding of sound design principles.
- Experience dealing with various audio equipment.
- Effective communication skills.
