Job Title:

Logistics Specialist

Job Purpose:

The role holder is responsible for Handling logistics activities for Saudi Arabia and organizing delivery, Handling customs clearance of import cargos. The role holder also works with third party logistics vendors, such as carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, certification agencies and others, as well as with official state institutions, e.g. customs authorities, on all import and export related topics including communication with suppliers & all internal stakeholders. Also the role holder will be assisting other team members from supply chain dept. in their absence & The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedures.

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Keeps record and tracking of all the logistics activities for the assigned area of responsibility

Provides input into improvement of the logistics process with the aim of optimizing the spend, lead times and workload.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Arranges and manages import from Europe, China, Americas as well as export and domestics deliveries.
  • Manages customs clearance for import deliveries (working with clearance agents/ brokers, preparing documentation, etc.).
  • Completes and tracks delivery schedules for import equipment delivery.
  • Communicates and cooperates with all the interested departments regarding delivery of equipment.
  • Supports procurement team in tendering of logistics service providers.
  • Constantly assesses and develops logistics vendors, whenever necessary organizes claim work with them Keeps regular reporting on import, export and domestic logistics, prepares on-request reports, metrics and analysis for the management, develops corrective action plans.
  • supporting store / warehouse if any support required.
  • taking timely actions on all tasks related to finance such as verifying invoices, receipting of PO’s & others.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management, Finance or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 – 3 years transportation & distribution experience in a supply chain and logistics operations environment.
  • Good connection with vendor.
