Job Description
The Freshman Experience Program is a two-day learning experience designed to give talented and ambitious college freshman exposure to Belk’s culture, corporate retail careers, and early career pathways within the retail industry.
What The Program Offers
- Two – day virtual learning experience
- Learn more about Big Box Retail and the eCommerce Industry
- Hear from Belk senior speakers
- Learn about key functions of our business: Merchandising, Planning, Private Brands & Sourcing, and Supply Chain, Omnichannel Operations, Information Technology, and Corporate Business functions
- Professional development and networking opportunities
Qualifications
- Preferred GPA of 3.2 or above from a strong academic programs
- Preferred Majors include: Economics, Business, Apparel Merchandising, Supply Chain, Apparel Design, Retail Studies, Marketing, Computer Science, and Operations Management, Finance and Accounting
- Positive attitude, true team player, drives for results, adaptability, and a continuous learner
- An excitement and interest in the Fashion and Retail industry
- Ability to problem solve and use innovative and creative ideas
- Graduation date of Fall 2027 or Spring 2028
Additional Details
- Strong applicants will be selected for a phone interview with a member of our recruiting team. Selected candidates will be invited to attend the Freshman Diversity Career Symposium.
- Belk will provide transportation or reimburse participants for their mileage to Charlotte, NC for the Freshman Diversity Program.
- Once in Charlotte, we’ll provide hotel accommodation, as well as transportation to events in Charlotte.
- The Freshman Experience Program will be held during Summer 2024.
