The Opportunity

Within Aeroflow, the Revenue Cycle Support team is comprised of 10 Team Members and growing.

  • Corporate oversight of Revenue Cycle Functions – Eligibility, Authorizations, Claims Transmissions, Rejections, Denials, Underpayments, Recoups, Equipment Returns, Payment Posting and Reconciliation, Patient Billing.
  • Support Business Unit Billing Teams and Sales Teams to Maximize Receipts and Collection Percentage.
  • Cross Functional Team with Comprehensive Understanding of Revenue Cycle Functions.

Your Primary Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Recoupment / Returns Specialist. This role is typically responsible for:

  • Reviewing, documenting, and indexing recoup requests from insurance companies into various computer applications.
  • Researching equipment and supplies returned to warehouse to determine if a recoup / refund to insurance or patient is necessary. Correct billing lines and account as needed.
  • Requests and coordinates with finance department to process refund checks for payers and patients.
  • When possible, refund patients electronically through payment processing system.
  • Communicates payer trends regarding recoups to Business Units and Stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with payer contacts and third-party contractors regarding recoup requests and reconciliation.
  • Employee has an individual responsibility for knowledge of and compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Compliance is a condition of employment and is considered an element of job performance
  • Maintain HIPAA/patient confidentiality
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Skills for Success

  • Basic knowledge of revenue cycle functions, medical insurance terminology and the ability to interpret an explanation of benefits (EOB).
  • Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail and proven track record in achieving productivity goals.
  • Demonstrates ability to learn computer applications as they relate to job duties and proficiency in the practice management system. This includes managing multiple proprietary applications simultaneously to complete tasks.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner, multitask and maintain a positive teamwork attitude.
  • Analytical: this role requires the ability to identify trends, core issues, and report them to supervisor and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required. Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • 2 -5 years of experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle.

You might also have

  • Experience with DME billing, specifically products provided by Aeroflow Business Units. Maternal Care, Urology, Sleep and Diabetes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills. Ability to write basic queries, understand database structure.
