Position Summary

The City is seeking an attorney to represent it in litigation related to employment and labor law in New Mexico State and Federal Courts, before the City of Albuquerque Personnel Board, and before the City of Albuquerque Labor Board. Other legal services may include, but is not limited to, providing legal advice, answering complaints, answering discovery, legal research, motions practice, case analysis, mediations, negotiations, trials, and appeals. Attention to detail and strong writing and interpersonal skills are essential

This is an unclassified at-will position.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements

Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school recognized by the American Bar Association; and

Three (3) years of experience as a licensed attorney; experience with government agencies.

Must be an active member of the State Bar of New Mexico in good standing; or be able to become licensed in New Mexico within three (3) months from date of hire.

Additional Requirements

Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver’s License or the ability to obtain by date of hire.

Possession of a City Operator’s Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
