Job Description

The Town of Silverton is seeking a qualified and dynamic Public Works Director to lead the Public Works Department. The Director will manage water, wastewater, street, and sanitation services, ensuring proper operation and maintenance of infrastructure. Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, preparing budgets, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and supervising staff. The Director will also enforce public improvement standards, maintain equipment, and advise town officials on department matters. Additional duties include managing emergency systems, quality control of water/wastewater, and preparing reports.

The ideal candidate will possess strong managerial, organizational, and technical skills, with a preferred Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in public administration, civil engineering, or a related field. Knowledge of street and water/sewer maintenance is desirable. A CDL must be obtained within a reasonable timeframe. Competitive salary of $85,000-$95,000, excellent benefits (health/ dental/ vision/ life/ short-term disability/ retirement), and a housing stipend are offered.
