Job Description

Full time, Permanent

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Joiner/Machinist to join our busy team at Bristol City Council’s Joinery Shop. We manufacture a variety of high-quality timber products, including doors (fire doors, standard doors, frames), second fix joinery, and bespoke items like structural bridges for local parks, all to support our 28,000 homes around Bristol.

You’ll be assembling joinery items such as doors and frames, working with hardwood and softwood, and occasionally operating machinery (saws, spindles, planing machines, morticers, and tenoners).

With a growing workload and a great reputation for quality, this is an exciting time to join our team as we prepare to move to larger premises and expand further. We offer a 37-hour work week (Monday to Friday), 25 days holiday (rising to 30 days after 5 years), plus bank holidays.

To apply, you’ll need a City & Guilds Craft Level, NVQ Level 2, or equivalent in Bench Joinery or Wood Machining, along with strong joinery and machining experience. We’re looking for a good team player who takes pride in delivering high-quality work. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
