Job Summary
The People Development and Training Manager is responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for HR and Operations professionals within the healthcare sector. This role involves creating training materials, leading workshops, and ensuring HR staff and leaders are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage people in a healthcare environment. The trainer will focus on enhancing competencies in areas such as employee relations, compliance, recruitment, performance management, and staff development, ensuring all HR practices align with healthcare regulations and best practices.
Essential Functions
Training Development & Delivery:
- Design and implement HR training programs tailored to the healthcare industry, covering topics such as employee relations, labor laws, compliance, diversity and inclusion, healthcare policies, and professional development.
- Conduct both in-person and virtual training sessions for HR staff and other employees as needed.
- Evaluate training needs through assessments, surveys, and discussions with department heads to identify skill gaps.
Program Management:
- Oversee the scheduling, coordination, and execution of HR training events and workshops.
- Maintain and update training materials and resources to ensure relevance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with department managers to customize training for specific healthcare units or needs.
Compliance and Regulation:
- Ensure training content adheres to relevant healthcare laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, including HIPAA, OSHA, and other healthcare-related compliance requirements.
- Stay up to date with changes in healthcare laws and regulations and adjust training programs accordingly.
Coaching & Mentorship:
- Provide ongoing support to HR staff by offering one-on-one coaching and mentorship to enhance their effectiveness in handling HR Issues.
- Assist HR teams in managing complex HR situations, such as conflict resolution, performance evaluations, and staff retention in a healthcare setting.
Evaluation & Improvement:
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance data.
- Identify areas for improvement and work to continually enhance HR training offerings.
- Monitor HR team performance and offer additional training as necessary to close knowledge or skills gaps.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with leadership teams and department managers to align HR training initiatives with the organization’s strategic goals.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the HR department.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
Licenses/Certifications
- Certifications in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) or healthcare management (e.g., CHHR) are a plus.
Experience
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on training or talent development in the healthcare sector.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare industry regulations, compliance standards, and HR practices.

- Ability to lift and carry materials (training handouts, equipment) as needed.
