Main duties of the job
You will work in rotation within all sections of the laboratory, namely General Haematology, Coagulation, Blood Transfusion. The laboratory is well equipped with Alinity H and ACL TOP analysers. Blood Transfusion utilises IBG Galileo Blood Group Analyser.
This is an exciting time within the laboratory as we are in the process of upgrading our laboratory area and analysers.
This is a full Rota position that includes working shifts, nights (including consecutive nights) and weekends.

Our laboratory has accreditation for UKAS ISO:15189 and is also accredited with MHRA, IIP and is accredited as a training laboratory by the IBMS for both registration and specialist portfolios leading to HCPC registration.

Essential criteria
- BSc in Biomedical sciences (H)
- HCPC registration in Biomedical sciences (H)
- Evidence of CPD (H)
- Specialist portfolio in haematology/BT or blood sciences
Desirable criteria
- MSc in Biomedical sciences
COMPETENCIES
Essential criteria
- Multi-tasking skills, prioritisation skills and initiative
- Team worker
- Working out of hours
PROFESSIONAL
Essential criteria
- Experience in Haematology and Blood Transfusion
- Experience in blood film morphology
Desirable criteria
- Experience in quality procedures including validation/ verification of tests and equipment
