Position Overview: Smart TV Developer

As a Smart TV Developer, you will play a key role in the development, customization, and maintenance of applications and operating systems for Smart TV platforms. This position requires expertise in Smart TV development environments, multimedia technologies, and an in-depth understanding of user interfaces tailored to Smart TV devices to deliver exceptional experiences across a range of platforms.

Must Have Skills

  • Experience developing or publishing applications for Smart TV platforms (e.g., Tizen, webOS, Android TV, Roku).
  • Experience publishing applications on relevant Smart TV app stores (e.g., Samsung Apps, LG Smart World, Google Play Store for TV).
  • Proficiency in debugging tools and performance optimization for Smart TVs
  • Strong understanding of multimedia technologies, including video players, streaming protocols (HLS, DASH)
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and frameworks like React or Vue.js for frontend development.
  • Familiarity with TV-specific development platforms and SDKs (Tizen Studio, webOS SDK, Android TV SDK).
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Knowledge of API integration (RESTful APIs, WebSockets) to enhance app functionality.
  • Experience with DRM (Digital Rights Management) for secure media content management.
  • English: C1 or equivalent proficiency.

Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain applications optimized for various Smart TV platforms, ensuring smooth performance and a high-quality user experience.
  • Integrate and debug hardware-specific features on Smart TVs, working closely with device manufacturers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, backend developers, product managers) to implement new features and enhance existing ones.
  • Address and resolve complex technical issues, including platform-specific compatibility and performance challenges.
  • Write scalable, maintainable code, following best practices and standards.
  • Implement secure solutions for managing and delivering multimedia content via streaming protocols and DRM protection.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation to support the development process and future upgrades.
  • Use project management and collaboration tools like Jira, Git, and Confluence to track tasks, communicate with teams, and ensure smooth development cycles.
