Position Summary:
The Chief of Strategic Operations (CSO) is responsible for the efficient performance of the organizations operations as dictated by the overall strategy established by the CEO and Board of Directors.
Master’s or bachelor’s degree with course work in related subjects such as Business Management, Business or Public Administration.
At least five (5) years in an executive management role with experience managing professional staff.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies, applicable laws, and industry-established best practices.
- This includes safety/OSHA requirements, personnel practices, GAAP, and any accreditation requirements, primarily CARF.
- Ensuring Standards of Conduct and ethical business practices are adhered to.
- Ensures sound leadership practices consistent with corporate compliance and ethics, goals, and mission.
- Performs duties in a manner that promotes team concept and reflects the mission, philosophy, and core values of respect, excellence, and stewardship, in accordance with Goodwill policies, procedures, and accepted business practices.
- Working collaboratively with senior staff to develop and implement department goals and plans, driving results.
- Support and motivate team to grow leadership capacity.
- Foster a culture of innovation by championing creative thinking, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and launch solutions and services that meet organizational needs.
- Promotes a favorable image and works cooperatively with all organization employees, participants, customers, and other persons contacted when performing duties.
- Maintaining collaborative partnerships with community organizations.
- Actively participates in the community, representing Goodwill.
- Works with the CEO and Vice President of Finance to ensure long-term financial stability:
- Using the approved budget to monitor and measure operating results.
- Analyze variations, taking appropriate action as needed.
- Overseeing physical assets, including the safeguarding of company property.
- Provides timely, accurate and complete reports to the CEO.
- Works with the CEO to implement the strategic plan, driving progress, outcomes, and alignment with overall goals.
- Tracking and analyzing progress against goals, prompting teams to pivot as needed to ensure success.
- Maintain constant knowledge of the competitive landscape, working with team to thwart future threats.
- Nurture strategic relationships, proactively identifying new opportunities.
- Provides leadership that aligns with business plan and strategic vision.
- Partner cross departments to support strategic initiatives.
- Actively integrate sustainable practices into your daily tasks and projects, ensuring alignment with the mission to reduce environmental impact, enhance resource efficiency, and cultivate a culture of sustainability within the Organization.
- Oversee the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns to enhance brand awareness and community awareness.
- Assists with stable transition in event of appointment of new President/CEO.
- Other relevant duties as assigned or required.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Experience with comparable duties as listed in the Essential Responsibilities and Position Summary sections of this description, preferred.
- Successful completion of GIIs Executive Development Program within three (3) years of employment in role, with ongoing annual participation in specific learning opportunities as a mechanism for ensuring required competency needed for the position.
