About The Job

The Heath Promotion Specialist will work within the Children’s Ground Health and Wellbeing team, which responds to the population health needs with the local community using the Children’s Ground Family Health and Wellbeing Framework Health in the Hands of the People Utnenge, Tyerrtye, Mwerre Atnyenetyeke Iltye Tyerrtye Urrperle–kenhenge. The role provides a wide range of health promotion to 5 communities in and around Mparntwe – Alice Springs including remote communities and outstations in Central Australia.

About You

We are seeking an innovative, suitably qualified and experienced Health Promotion Specialist who has experience working with First Nations and remote communities. You will an understanding of the effects of colonisation, disempowerment and intergenerational trauma and a demonstrated commitment to social justice.

To be successful in this position, you will need to enjoy working outdoors and with community, have strong relationship, networking and communication skills – both verbal and written, have a collaborative approach to work and be a self-starter who thrives in an environment that is ambiguous and complex and be a systemic thinker.

Ideally, you will be a First Nations person.
