General Description of Role and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the activities of electrical and mechanical subcontractors, Tenants fit-out contractors and consultants to ensure work is completed on time as per LODs.
- Monitor the progress of work and resolve any issues related to electrical and mechanical systems installation, troubleshooting, and performance.
- Collaborate with design engineers and architects to review mechanical and electrical designs and make recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure that MEP systems (HVAC, electrical power, lighting, etc.) are designed, installed, and functioning according to specifications.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, ADDC & ADCD regulations, and safety standards.
- Conduct daily site inspections to monitor the quality of mechanical and electrical work.
- Ensure that installation work complies with all quality standards and technical specifications.
- Ensure all MEP-related documentation, including submittals, shop drawings, and as-built drawings, are accurate and up to date.
- Quickly identify and resolve issues related to electrical and mechanical systems to avoid project delays.
- Address any discrepancies or conflicts that arise between electrical and mechanical systems and other construction disciplines.
- Assist in the preparation of project schedules and budgets related to electrical and mechanical work.
- Track and report on the progress of electrical and mechanical work against deadlines and, recommending adjustments as necessary.
- Work closely with the construction team, project managers, architects, and other engineering teams to ensure alignment between all project components.
- Facilitate communication and coordinate tasks to avoid conflicts between different MEP systems and other building trades.
Qualifications:
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional certifications or training in MEP systems are an advantage.
- Preferred have experience in mall projects, retail fit-out or a related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in MEP coordination, with a focus on both electrical and mechanical systems in construction projects.
- Experience in project management and the ability to handle large, complex projects.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and other MEP design tools is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and lighting.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills.
- Familiarity with relevant building regulations in Abu Dhabi
