Role Description:
The Data Analyst will conduct data and statistical analysis to identify key performance indicators and meaningful insights, as well as communicate findings both verbally and through data visualizations. This position will support a program in U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
This role will report to the team project lead. The individual will attend client meetings, internal meetings, and will work at the client site (near Metro Center) at least once per week.
Responsibilities
- Attend all client and internal meetings.
- Take and submit meeting minutes for all client meetings.
- Learn and understand a complex data structure related to a technical program.
- Aggregate disparate data sources to create a holistic view of program performance.
- Propose meaningful key performance indicators and report on performance.
- Summarize data trends in both written, verbal, and visual formats to support leadership decision-making.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Required
- Located in the DC metro area
- Experience conducting data and statistical analysis to identify key performance indicators and meaningful insights
- Experience developing data visualizations to communicate findings, trends, and indicators to senior leaders using Tableau/PowerBI/Qlik or similar
- Experience aggregating, cleaning, and organizing datasets from disparate sources
- Have supported comprehensive program evaluations identify trends and report on program performance, gaps, opportunities, and insights
- Experience organizing and leading client meetings, including scheduling meetings, drafting and delivering agendas and meeting minutes, providing and archiving required documentation, and documenting, tracking, and following up on action items
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments while ensuring technical accuracy, adherence to standards, and timely delivery of all products with deliverables requiring little rework
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of business, both written and verbal
- Ability to adapt quickly and develop successful professional relationships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
Preferred
- CBP BI
- Degree in an analytical or mathematical-related area
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or similar programming and analytical languages
- Experience consulting for the federal government
- Experience related to international trade or supply chain analysis
- Experience working in DHS or CBP
