Job Description

Job Purpose:

To conduct servicing, corrective, and preventative electrical maintenance of equipment and machinery as per established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality, and industry regulations, ensuring that all equipment and apparatus are always operational to support the delivery of maintenance operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule and ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out in a timely manner with Company policies and procedures, customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Perform the administration, configuration, calibration, maintenance, and qualification of assigned equipment / machinery as per established SOPs.
  • Conduct repairs and electrical maintenance on equipment or machinery as per plant requirements and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic equipment and process errors, recommending solutions by applying a wide variety of existing techniques, processes, and procedures to fulfil operational requirements.
  • Continuously monitor equipment for optimal operational efficiency, aiming to minimize both planned and unexpected maintenance needs.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all electrical maintenance activities, noting all changes or modifications, and facilitate the timely preparation of required reports.
  • Oversee the maintenance and servicing of engine generators to ensure optimal operations, working extensively on associated control circuit equipment, ensuring that electrical, pneumatic, and electronic controls function seamlessly.
  • Ensure the alarm and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), along with programmable controls, are up to date and functioning as per the set standards.
  • Maintain a high standard of janitorial services in the Electrical workshop as per International Organizational for Standardization (ISO), Goods Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS).
  • Check the performance of tools technician tools on a monthly basis to ensure they are in optimal working condition by checking for damage, calibrating the equipment, and notifying Maintenance Engineering Specialist to issues replacements.
  • Respond to emergencies, breakdowns, malfunctions, and other operating problems to minimize disruptions in the manufacturing process.
  • Develop and install machine programs using automation software and custom coding languages.
  • Determine machine automation test criteria before the final installation.
  • Overseeing the successful installation of PLC programs.
  • Maintain, repair, and upgrade the electrical distribution infrastructure, perform thermography of motor control and electrical distribution panels.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot on PLC’s, Drives and Controller and repair motors, control centers, and de-energized higher voltage equipment.
  • Maintain and repair engine generators; perform work on associated control circuit equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair building circuits and related equipment.
  • Maintain electrical pneumatic controls, programmable controls, and related equipment.
  • Ensures that confidentiality of data collected and stored is maintained.
  • Create and monitor all system documents via SAP (i.e Proactive and reactive Maintenance, Shutdown, Maintenance Plans.
  • Maintains records including problem documentation and action taken, file management logs and similar data.
  • Adhere strictly to all relevant regulations, emphasizing Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality standards, and align all activities with the company’s established policies and procedures.
  • Keep abreast on the latest developments in electrical work and operations to ensure NFL adopts best practices consistently.

Background Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with 0 – 2 years of experience.

Or

  • Postgraduate degree in relevant discipline with 1-2 years of experience.
