Your Role
As a Labourer/Spotter, you’ll play an essential part in ensuring the smooth operation of events. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting forklift drivers in navigating busy, congested event halls safely and efficiently.
- Operating pallet jacks and managing the movement of goods, including lifting boxes onto pallets.
- Performing general laboring duties to support event setups (bump-ins) and tear-downs (bump-outs).
- Maintaining a high standard of safety and care once you’ve completed the required safety induction.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
To excel in this fast-paced industry, we’re looking for people who possess the following attributes:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Physical capability to lift up to 25 kilograms from floor to waist level.
- A positive attitude and strong motivation to succeed.
- Availability to work some weekends (also advantageous).

This role is casual and ad-hoc, offering the flexibility to suit your lifestyle with 2-4 shifts per week. You’ll be working at industry award rates with a flat pay rate of $31.23 per hour under the Exhibition Industry Award.
Start times are typically at 7:00 AM, with some flexibility required for 3:00 PM bump-outs and occasional weekend work. Most shifts will take place at the Sydney Show Grounds, providing you with easy access to public transportation.
