Guaranteed Rate, Inc. D/B/A Rate is currently seeking a Fraud Risk Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing Personal Loans, Home Equity loans and Mortgage loans to identify and mitigate potential fraud risks.

Pay Range: $60,000-$80,000 annually

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, Personal Loans, HELOCs, Mortgage Loans for suspected fraudulent activity, potential misrepresentation and/or suspicious activities related to the origination, underwriting, or servicing of the loan.
  • Ensure the prevention of fraudulent activity by mitigating risks associated with loan applications.
  • Identify fraud scenarios and complex fraud schemes, and conduct thorough investigations utilizing various tools and reports.
  • Analyze account characteristics to effectively assess potential risks.
  • Conduct interviews with the employees, applicants, and third parties to support and/or mitigate the suspicious activity.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of fraud-related policies and procedures.
  • Examine financial statements and loan file documents to identify unusual transaction patterns.
  • Submit recommendations for Suspicious Activity Reports to the Special Investigations Unit.
  • Accurately summarize and document findings, supporting the decisions made and the actions taken throughout the investigation process
  • Assist with the review of possible matches to various exclusionary lists including, government, agency, investor and internal.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

Competencies

  • 1+ years of fraud investigation experience. BSA/AML experience preferred and/or CAMS, CFE
  • Experience within the mortgage industry is preferable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and highly regulated environment
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent time management skills with an emphasis on quality
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work remotely in a team environment while thinking independently and sharing knowledge and ideas
