Construction Laborer
Job Description
Position Summary: The Construction Laborer ensures high standards in producing food-grade and commercial ethanol products. This hands-on role involves cross-training in various tasks, with potential for promotion to Construction Lead.
Work hours:10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
Responsibilities
- Support maintenance and millwright teams by setting up work areas and maintaining tools.
- Perform preventive maintenance and operate equipment safely.
- Load, unload, and distribute materials and tools as per project plans.
- Measure, mark, and prepare construction sites.
- Join, align, and seal structural components; erect and dismantle temporary structures.
- Build and dismantle concrete forms.
- Perform carpentry, plastering, and masonry tasks.
- Control traffic around work zones.
- Operate tools, testing equipment, and industrial vehicles safely.
- Support plant operations and follow safety procedures.
- Ensure food safety compliance and proper documentation.
Key Competencies
- Operate heavy-duty cleaning equipment and use platforms, cages, harnesses, and respiratory masks.
- Heavy equipment operator license(s) desired but not required.
- Work autonomously with critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
Requirements
- High School Graduate, GED, or equivalent experience. Technical school certificate or degree in Construction desired.
- 3-5 years of construction experience.
- General computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in English for effective communication.
- Provide own basic hand tools.
- Experience in roofing, waterproofing, and building restoration.
- Concrete experience desired.
