Job Title: Timber Terminal Operative

Location: Port of Dundee

Hours: 0800-1700 Monday – Friday + overtime available over evenings & weekends, occasional night shifts

Compensation: £29,979 + shift allowance + OTE

About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and flexible Timber Terminal Operative to join our team. Some of the key responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Performing general housekeeping and stock control duties
  • Ensuring proper storage of timber
  • Regular operation of forklift trucks
  • Ensuring hauliers receive the correct cargo and paperwork
  • Covering terminal administration duties as needed
  • Assisting in other operational areas within the Port as required

What are we looking for?

It is important to us that you are a good team member, who is also able to work independently. You will need to think critically, analyse situations, and develop practical solutions to overcome obstacles, minimise delays, and maintain operational efficiency. The Port environment is fast paced and busy so you must be able to demonstrate a really good understanding of the importance of Health and Safety in a heavily industrialised environment. As these roles may involve some nightshift working, we are looking for a degree of flexibility but an additional nightshift payment will apply for any nightshifts worked

Skills And Experience Required

  • Knowledge of timber handling and storage
  • Experience driving a forklift truck
  • Previous administration and IT experience
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong team player with flexibility to support various operations
  • Awareness of Health and Safety practices
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • Full UK driving license
