Position Overview
The Communications Representative serves as a key member of the communications team, responsible for creating, coordinating, and disseminating effective messaging to internal and external audiences. This role involves managing media relations, content development, social media engagement, and supporting the organization’s branding efforts to ensure consistent and positive communication.
Key Responsibilities
Media Relations:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for media inquiries.
- Draft press releases, media advisories, and other press materials.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, reporters, and media outlets.
- Monitor media coverage and prepare reports for leadership.
Internal Communications:
- Assist in drafting and distributing internal communications to employees.
- Coordinate with leadership to ensure company announcements are effectively communicated.
- Foster engagement through newsletters, updates, and intranet content.
Event Support:
- Support communication needs for company events, including logistics, materials, and promotion.
- Serve as an on-site communications representative during events.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Canva, or similar).
