Head of Strategy

As the Head of Strategy, you will lead the strategic direction, growth initiatives, and long-term planning for HF Markets. Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s long-term vision by analysing market trends, identifying new opportunities, developing business strategies and ensuring strategic alignment across all business units. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader with a passion for innovation, data-driven decision-making and cross-functional collaboration.

Your role at HFM:

• Lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to achieve the company’s objectives and drive sustainable growth.
• Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify new business opportunities such as new market entries, customer segments and partnerships.
• Evaluate and prioritise initiatives based on customer needs, Return on Investment (ROI), strategic fit, and operational feasibility.
• Establish the Strategy team’s goals, success criteria and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Ensure the company’s strategic initiatives are aligned with governance policies and regulatory frameworks, while mitigating risks associated with those.
• Build, lead and mentor a team of Strategy Managers, fostering a culture of innovation, critical thinking and continuous improvement.
• Prepare and deliver presentations, reports and recommendations, and act as a strategic advisor to the CSO and the Executive Committee.
• Collaborate with senior leadership across functions to align the organisation’s vision, goals, and priorities.
• Create a dynamic working environment that promotes positive moral.

Requirements

• BA/BSc or MSc in Finance, Economics, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
• 6+ years’ experience in strategy development, management consulting, investment banking or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in leading business strategy initiatives – preferably within the financial services or forex sector.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Proven ability to influence and drive results in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
• Leadership experience preferred, with a demonstrated ability to influence and inspire teams.
• Proficiency in English; additional languages would be considered an advantage.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines, multitask, and demonstrate strong organisational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and pivot strategies as needed in response to changing market conditions.
• High level of integrity and ethical judgment.
