About the Role
As the Chief of Staff & CEO Communications lead, you will work closely with the CEO to shape the organizational narrative and drive strategic priorities. This hybrid role merges executive communications with operational leadership, placing you at the forefront of critical initiatives. You will be responsible for crafting and executing a cohesive communications strategy, managing cross-functional projects, and optimizing the CEO’s focus to ensure maximum impact.
The ideal candidate will be an exceptional writer, strategic thinker, and proactive operator who excels at managing communications and driving execution. You will amplify the CEO’s voice through various channels, ensure alignment within the organization, and keep initiatives progressing while maintaining the seamless operation of the CEO’s office.
Key Responsibilities
– **Strategic Prioritization & Initiative Management:** Collaborate closely with the CEO to identify and prioritize initiatives that drive organizational success. Lead cross-functional projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment across all teams and timely delivery of milestones.
– **External CEO Communications:** Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy for the CEO. Draft and refine all written material including speeches, blog posts, social media content, and thought leadership pieces. Conduct research on relevant industry topics to craft compelling narratives that position the CEO as an industry leader, ensuring all communications reflect the CEO’s voice and align with the company’s mission and strategic goals.
– **Internal CEO Communications:** Create content for internal communications from the CEO, including Company All Hands meetings, leadership updates, and other significant events. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure employees feel informed, inspired, and engaged with the organizational mission.
– **External Engagement Management:** Prepare the CEO for media appearances, podcasts, conferences, customer events, and keynote speeches. Develop briefing documents and coordinate with external partners to enhance the impact of each engagement. Act as the main contact for external content opportunities to maintain a consistent narrative.
– **Social Media Strategy & Execution:** Assist the CEO in maintaining an engaging social media presence. Draft posts, interact with key audiences, and develop a social media calendar to keep the CEO visible and connected with employees, customers, and industry peers.
– **Executive Decision Support:** Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO on critical decisions, offering well-researched recommendations and synthesizing information from across the organization. Attend meetings, capture action items, and follow up to ensure accountability.
– **Executive Administration and Agenda Management:** Directly manage and support the CEO’s Executive Assistant. Collaborate to ensure efficient management of the CEO’s schedule, ensuring that time is allocated effectively across organizational priorities. Set meeting agendas, facilitate discussions, and ensure follow-through on decisions made.
Qualifications
– **Experienced Executive Partner:** Proven success in developing trusted relationships with C-level executives; skilled in fostering trust and transparency across the organization while acting as an ambassador for the CEO’s vision.
– **Strategic Communications Mindset:** Ability to think strategically about messaging, understand audience needs, and establish impactful communications that align with both the CEO’s and the company’s objectives.
– **Exceptional Writing Skills:** Proven expertise in producing clear and compelling content across various formats, from investor relations presentations to social media communications.
– **Project Management:** Ability to manage multiple projects, adhere to timelines, adapt to shifting priorities, all while maintaining attention to detail.
– **Operational Efficiency:** Proven skills in enhancing processes, streamlining workflows, and ensuring effective collaboration across various teams.
– **Discretion and Confidentiality:** Ability to handle sensitive information with complete discretion.
Requirements
**Availability:** Must be able to work on-site in the San Francisco office a minimum of three days per week, with flexibility to accommodate CEO and company needs.

Base Salary Range
$192,000 – $240,000
