Job Description

The Medical A/R Manager is responsible for managing and leading the A/R Department to ensure timely and accurate collections while assisting with client solutions and maintaining efficient revenue processes.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide technical Accounts Receivable leadership to the team, company, and our clients
  • Establish and deliver department vision with clear team and individual priorities and goals
  • Track and analyze A/R performance metrics, including days in A/R, aging balances, and collection rates
  • Establish/maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the A/R Department
  • Monitor staff workflow and overall effectiveness to ensure team and individual production goals are compliant and met daily
  • Monitor denial, and no activity trends by payor, establishing root cause issues
  • Identify trends and implement strategies for improving cash flow and reducing A/R aging
  • Collaborate with other departments to address systemic issues impacting A/R processes
  • Supervise and mentor the A/R team, including hiring, training, and performance management
  • Maintain adequate staffing levels through recruitment and retention
  • Stay updated on industry changes, payer requirements, and technology advancements to implement best practices.
  • Follow all state and federal collections and HIPAA laws/regulations
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

Education And Experience

  • Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • At least three (3) years of medical A/R experience required.
  • Experience in medical accounts receivable management highly preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, including billing and collections, preferred.
  • Medicare Part B experience with knowledge of Medicare billing practices and regulations preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Position requires sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods and continuous use of a computer.
