Job Description

Purpose Of The Job

To safely perform duties at the final product crushing plant, magnet separation plant, sampling and oversee the loading at final product.

Customers

  • Ensure customer satisfaction

Crushing And Screening

  • Crush material by means of a jaw crusher
  • Operate pre-crushing plant
  • Separate material by means of a vibrating screen
  • Load material via the loading chute onto the dump-truck
  • Sample the screened product for pre-stockpile analysis and log the sample onto MES followed by a delivery scan at the Lab itself
  • Complete the shift crushing report
  • Inspect and replace damaged screen panel
  • Housekeeping in and around operating area

Magnet Separation Plant

  • Separate final product by means of the magnet plant
  • Log samples on MES
  • Arrange the loading of the material according to grade

Loading

  • Oversee loading of pre-approved Final Product dispatches onto rail and road trucks
  • Inspect rail and road trucks for cleanliness and damage
  • Provide direction to the shunter/loco driver/front end loader/dumper truck driver and road truck drivers
  • Do visual inspection checks whilst loading
  • Ensuring clear instructions are communicated between the loader, loco driver and the weighbridge
  • Take samples of the final product before and during loading
  • Perform screening of samples and complete screening split sheet
  • Prepare screened samples for lab analysis and log samples on MES
  • Deliver samples to Lab
  • Complete the loading sheet
  • Ensure that no skew loading on rail wagons occur by using a taper gauge
  • Assist TFR during load inspection before departing

  • Grade 12/N3
  • 2 years’ relevant experience
