CONTEXT AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

In the context of growing sales in Asia region, and the objective of the optimization of Lacoste supply chain, the logistics manager is responsible for managing the warehouses operations, upstream & downstream logistics.

Working in the Supply Chain Division of South APAC (SEA, Hong-Kong, Ocenia) and reporting to the Supply Chain Director, your role as Logistics Manager is to ensure the end-to-end logistics is managed efficiently to achieve the required service levels within the target costs. You will be managing all the 3rd party logistics (3PL) involved in the scope of responsibility, driving & optimizing their performance, negotiating fair costs, driving continuous improvements with both internal and external parties to continuous optimize costs & service levels.

This role is to manage a newly established team; this is an opportunity to start from a near-blank page & deeply rework the ways of working. As such this role requires a person with the desire to drive change & improvements along with an entrepreneurial spirit with high level of critical thinking to challenge the status quo.

MAIN REPONSIBILITIES AND MISSIONS

I. Upstream logistics / inbounds logistics (shipments from factories to warehouse)

  • Manage shipments from factories & other Lacoste warehouses; directly with factories or in coordination with Lacoste sourcing offices involving 50+ factories from 10+ countries of origin
  • Optimize shipment consolidation plan & transport modes to strike the balance of on-time delivery vs cost; work closely with business teams to make the decisions that brings the most relevant value for the company
  • Define standard operating procedures & KPI; control the performance & that the SOP is adhered to by both external & internal parties
  • Drive continuous improvements with important level of critical thinking & pro-activity
  • Work closely with HQ – Global Transportation team to participate in forwarder tendering process to negotiate prices & the required service levels allowing for the most performing & cost-effective freight solutions

II. Warehouse operations & downstream logistics

  • Manage 3 warehouses’ operations and 3PL in charge
  • Monitor day to day operations to ensure the service levels are adhered to; anticipate any impacts on service levels & issues to provide an adequate solution to the business
  • Define standard operating procedures & KPI; control the performance & that the SOP is adhered to by both external & internal parties
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to optimize costs & service levels
  • Drive the performance of the 3PL, nurture the partnership, with important level of critical thinking to ensure the best ways of working are established with fair and reasonable costs
  • Ensure the inventory accuracy & drive the stock take processes
  • Work closely with the supply chain director to define & drive the tendering process whenever needed either at the end of the contract, where ad-hoc needs & changes occur

III. Logistics costs control

  • Review & control logistics invoices from 3PL to ensure accurate & fair billing according to negotiated pricing & validated exceptions on case-by-case basis
  • Reconcile and record actual operational volume & costs monthly
  • Ensure that actual costs are within target budget, analyze and explain gaps if any
  • Prepare necessary volumes & costs data to prepare budgets, work closely with the supply chain director to define & estimate budgets

MAIN KPI & DELIVERABLES

  • Sea transport mode utilization
  • Container optimization
  • Inventory accuracy
  • Warehouse operations executed within the standard lead-time (inbounds, outbounds, returns, etc.)
  • Actual costs within target budget; gaps explained & documented

Main Skills, Competencies, Knowledge Required

  • Degree in business or engineering, with a specialization in Logistics or Supply Chain preferred;
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Logistics including managing shipping, warehouses and 3PL (forwarders & warehouse 3PL); in an international environment
  • Strong experience in managing 3P and solid knowledge of ERP & transportation systems,
  • Process & systems driven with good analytical mindset and passion for continuous improvement;
  • Hands-on, can work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Fluent in Cantonese, English & Mandarin
