Description
Reporting to the Lead Desktop Support Engineer – Engineering – IT, the role of the IT Desktop Support Engineer is to provide local IT support and administration to the Preqin staff based in the Bangalore Preqin office and remote support to Preqin staff in the other offices in the other region if needed.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide excellent end-user IT Support to Preqin employees
- Work towards automating routine team task
- To pick up incidents, investigate the root cause and follow their life cycle through to resolution
- Provide technical help and guidance on IT projects when required
- Take end-to-end ownership of IT issues and keep users updated with progress
- Management of the new Joiner, Movers, and Leavers (JML) process
- Support end-user devices and ensure they are managed and updated using the security policies
- Be part of an International IT team and deal with support cases/tickets and changes using the ticketing system
- Ensure workspace at offices is setup and working properly including meeting rooms
- Create email accounts and distribution groups on collaboration platforms
- Provide smart hands to the infrastructure team for tasks such as the installation of devices in offices and data centers
- Take part in driving and supporting projects to support changes that affect the Production network
What You’ll Bring To Us
- Experience of maintaining Windows-based user endpoints , minimum 3-5 years of experience in IT Support
- Windows administration: Laptops – build, maintain and secure
- Working knowledge of antivirus/malware detection and prevention
- Basic networking administration (TCP/IP, WiFi)
- An understanding of structured cabling and can competently manage cabling to user endpoints
- An understanding of video conferencing software and its importance for collaboration
- Experience of using Service Desk systems to manage workflow (JIRA preferred)
- Well-developed oral and written skills to enable effective discussion of progress and/or issues arising in the development process and documentation of applications
- High levels of self-organisation and the ability to follow a process and organise data and work processes
