Student Health & Wellbeing Coordinator

Job Description

Reporting to: Head of Student Development & Wellbeing or Nominee

Main Duties:

  • Supporting the Student Health and Wellbeing Unit with the coordination of health and wellbeing services to medical and nursing students (undergraduate and postgraduate).
  • Reviewing Infectious Disease Screening and Immunization records of new students and following up accordingly.
  • Maintaining and updating student health records.
  • Liaising with other university departments such as Admissions and Student Records as required.
  • Coordination with private hospitals for repeat Infectious Disease Screening of new students and the Year 3 medical students prior to starting their clinical rotations.
  • Revising existing students immunization records to ensure all their vaccinations are up to date, and communicating/following up with individual students as necessary.
  • Actively collaborating with other members of the Student Health and Wellbeing team in health promotion campaigns and activities, and supporting the provision of health and wellbeing advice and guidance to students.
  • Attending clinical examinations, both on campus and at clinical sites, to provide first aid services and health support to students if required.
  • Liaising with government ministries i.e. Ministry of Health for updated information on official policies relating to health and wellbeing, and ensuring that the university health and wellbeing services are compliant with government requirements for medical and nursing students. Supporting the Student Health and Wellbeing team in various administration and other tasks required in relation to student health and wellbeing.

Requirements

Key requirements/Person specification

  • A healthcare background/healthcare qualifications.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Providing a confidential and appropriate response to students presenting with health concerns. Friendly personality.
  • Flexible working hours, some weekend work may be required.
  • Excellent English language skills required, as well as computer literacy.
  • Working on Excel spreadsheets and Zoho.
  • Excellent organisation, coordination and intercultural communication skills.
  • Able to work as a member of a highly performing team.
  • Arabic speaker preferred for Ministry liaison.
